Valentine Gift Basket Ideas

A couple of weeks ago, we posted some of our ideas for the church Valentine's banquet we're organizing. We have come up with some fun games and will be giving away gift baskets as prizes. The baskets were a lot of fun to put together, and you can really find a lot of nice things without breaking the bank.

I started out by thinking of themes for the baskets: picnic, breakfast in bed, pizza, movie night, Italian dinner, coffee, spa, roadtrip, fondue, etc. I ended up picking spa, movie night, and breakfast in bed.

After I narrowed down the basket themes, I made lists of small, inexpensive items that we could find to fill up the baskets.

Spa basket:
bath salts
fancy soaps
body lotion
mesh bath pouf
candles
fancy chocolate bar

Movie night basket:
pop corn buckets
pop corn
hot chocolate
assorted candy

Breakfast in bed basket:
heart shaped mixing bowl
coffee mugs
pancake/biscuit/waffle mix
maple syrup
dish towel
spatula

I found cellophane basket bags at Dollar Tree and tied them off with ribbon. The total cost for all three baskets was about $40. Not bad!
