Hello again! I've made some Christmas printables for myself and wanted to share them with you. They are lyrics taken from Silent Night, Holy Night, and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear. Enjoy!

Free Harvest Printables

Can you believe it's October?! Summer has once again flown by, and here we are at the end of gardening season, long days, and cool treats. I'm okay with that. Autumn has always been a favorite of mine. I never really got around to pulling out my summer decor, but I had my autumn decor out by the middle of September. Rather than buying anything new, I rearranged things I already had on hand and then bought a few small pumpkins for vignettes. Printable art is easy to switch around, though, so I made a few new prints for this year. I used Bible verses about harvesting to create a set that coordinates. The background looks gray, but it should print white. If you have trouble with it, let me know.

Small Entryway Reveal and a Free Printable

Hello, everyone! I've been writing less than usual as I'm determined to finish my spring cleaning this week. One project that needed to be tackled in the midst of my cleaning efforts was the small entryway to the house. Our house has three outside entrances. The front door opens into the living room, there is a door on the driveway side of the house that opens into the small entryway (and then a door from that into a big entryway), and then there is a door to the back porch that we never use. I'd say we get a pretty even amount of people who come to the front and side doors. Marshall and I almost exclusively use the side door.

The small entryway was pretty drab, and I thought it would be nice to spruce up the area we first see when we walk in the door. Here it is before:

We forgot to take a real "before" picture. This is after Marshall took down a couple of boards. You can see where the walls had been painted around them (definitely a pet peeve!).

And here is the entryway today:

This makeover was completely FREE as we used leftover paint (True Value's Encompass) and a shelf that had been previously destined for our garage sale.

I pulled a few things from around the house for the shelf. It will probably look completely different tomorrow. You know me.

I brought in the Christ is Risen printable and made a new printable for the other frame. I thought Micah 6:8 would be a great verse to see each time we leave the house.

Easter Printables

I thought I'd kick off the weekend with some free Easter printables! Have you heard the song Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed! by Keith & Krysten Getty? I love it; it's so joyful! I used some of the lyrics for this printable, and they serve as a great reminder of what Easter is about.

Another favorite Easter song of mine is Jesus Saves by Travis Cottrell. I was going to make a big printable with the full lyrics, but I thought I'd be super original and stick to the point...

If you haven't heard, the Gettys are offering free sheet music downloads of several Easter hymns on their site. Check it out!

Ballard Inspired Vintage Egg Printables

Have you seen Ballard's new spring collection? As always, they've got some great selections. I'm always looking for seasonal art inspiration, and these vintage egg prints caught my eye.

They look very similar to some free vintage egg graphics from The Graphics Fairy. If you haven't visited her site, it's a must see! She has uploaded thousands of free vintage images.

You can probably guess what's coming next...

Rather than spending $139 for a set of six prints (who needs six egg prints, anyway?), I downloaded TGF's vintage egg graphics and made my own for FREE!

I love them! They are just the right amount of "spring" without looking too cheesy or juvenile.

These are not my graphics to share, but if you head over to The Graphics Fairy, you can do an image search for "eggs" and pick some out for yourself.

Ballard Inspired Kitchen Art

We finished our kitchen makeover just before Thanksgiving, and I decided to wait on adding decorative touches until the holiday busyness was over.

I'm learning that it's never really over.

Nevertheless, I decided that it was time to add a few things to the walls, and I hopped online for a little inspiration. I came across this picture from Ballard's site and loved the vintage artwork.

The prints are $59 apiece, so I set out to make a knock-off of a few of my favorites.

If you look closely at the Ballard prints, there is handwriting on each one that looks like it's in French. Instead of trying to decipher and copy the original text, I just used Google Translate to translate the name and definition of each object.

For example:
English: rolling pin: a long cylinder for rolling out dough
French: un rouleau à pâtisserie: un long cylindre pour rouler la pâte

I picked up some cheap frames at the dollar store and spray painted them white.

Then, I ripped the stands off the backs of the frames so they would lay flat against the wall and hot glued hangers on them.

We hung the prints above the doorway leading to the back porch.

The process was really simple, and I love how my prints turned out. I saved about $230 by doing it myself!

I have another Valentine printable to share with you today!  These verses are read and repeated often, and I know that for myself, it's easy for them to just roll right off my tongue without really thinking about their meaning.  But love is big deal.

Great is Your Faithfulness Free Printable

We just finished painting our master bedroom, and now I'm working on the walls and filling out the little spaces.  I often make new printables for the frame on our night stand, and I was mulling over which phrase or verse I should use this time.  Lamentations 3:22-23 popped into my head, and it's a verse you have likely heard or may even know by heart.

It seems fitting to read these verses first thing in the morning, and it also seems fitting for the beginning of a new year.

Here is another one of my favorites from our bedroom.  You'll obviously want to change the dates to personalize it for yourself.  The font for the numbers is 18thCentury, and the font for the names is Jane Austen.

I've seen variations of these floating all over pinterest, so the idea is not original to me.  And to those of you who know us well, yes, I did change the dates on the printable shown for the sake of privacy.

Have I told you that I really love Christmas?

Thanksgiving is actually my favorite holiday, because it kicks off the Christmas season.

I dread December 26th when trees come down, carols are put away, and life goes back to normal.

I realize that a lot of people get really stressed out with all the Christmas shopping and partying.

Our solution?  Don't go the parties, and spend less money.  Less money = less shopping.
