DIY Framed Chalkboard

We finally jumped on the chalkboard bandwagon!  Since there are SO many tutorials out there on how to make your own chalkboard, I'll spare you the details.  I will say, however, that you need to read the directions on the chalkboard spray paint before you start.


We made our chalkboard on a piece of sheet metal so it would be magnetic, but I haven't yet made any magnets to go with it.  I'll be sure to post a picture when I do.  I picked up an old, gaudy frame at Goodwill a while back and thought it would be perfect for the chalkboard.  After giving the frame a coat of gray spray paint, we hung it on this wonderful, vintage door that my mother-in-law bought us.

Yes, we started this project at 10:00 PM.  Once I have an idea in my head, I just can't sleep until it's finished.
